研究や論文の指導を希望される場合は、まずご自身で計画書を作成してみてください。計画書には、a. 研究課題（明らかにしたい問い）、b. 先行研究文献一覧（その問いやテーマについてすでに他の人が何を明らかにしてきたかを図書館等で調べ、リストに挙げたもの）、c. 研究課題に答えるために自身の分析で用いたい原資料やデータで使えるのではないかと考えているもの、があると良いです。多くの場合、完璧に仕上げてからではなく、a., b., c.を書いている途中で私に相談してもらうのが良いと思います。
For students who wish to conduct research and write a thesis:
I can advise projects on American politics, and comparative political studies that include American cases.
My expertise and interests include the following topics of American politics: political parties, Congress, President, the Court, elections, state and local governments, voting rights, the bureaucracy, interest groups, social movements, taxation, and welfare state. In the field of comparative politics, I am interested in regime transition, and democratic consolidation.
You will need to write a thesis proposal. Ideally, it should have three components: a. research question(s) you pose; b. a list of extant literature (what other people have already written) on the questions and the topics you are pursuing; and c. if you have any idea of data and primary materials you think you can use to answer the research questions. At some point in the process of drafting the proposal, come and talk to me, it would be sooner the better.
